We encourage you to keep your account open, even if you are not carrying a balance on it. Your credit utilization ratio makes up about 30% of your FICO score, according to MyFico. Closing your Grow Credit account may take away one source of your credit, possibly lowering your overall available credit.
Grow Credit does not charge a fee if you choose to close your account before your loan term ends, but any outstanding balance on your account must be paid in full for an account to be closed.
If you still want to close your Grow Credit account, please go to your Account Settings and click Close Account. You can find your settings on the website by clicking the profile icon next to Log Out. If you're using the mobile app, click the circle with your initials in the bottom right corner. If you’re having trouble submitting a close request through your account settings, please reach out to customer support with your date of birth, billing zip code, and your request.
Please keep in mind that removing the app from your phone or signing out does not close your account. You should not assume your account has been closed until you receive confirmation from customer support.
